Our Aim

The aim of the Salt Cellar is to share God's love with people in Oldham's town centre; through caring service in the restaurant; by offering a listening ear; and, when sought, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

Prayer

The whole of the Salt Cellar Project was founded on the prayers of many people. It continues as it began in prayer, and without prayer we have no real future here. Each working day begins with staff and volunteers at prayer. You may wish to join us in prayer, or leave a prayer request with us - please don't be afraid to ask us to pray for you - that's also what we're here for.

We are Christians who believe the gospel is best seen in action, where people are. The Church of Christ is for all, and should be found in the market place as a serving community.

From the early vision of the 1980's has sprung this town centre witness to practical faith, providing an award winning daytime restaurant, a place of quiet and the listening ear of a friend,  an exciting youth project, and much more.

With a busy restaurant and other activities six days a week, plus a worshipping community on Sundays, this is a seven-days-a-week Church.

Whether you're looking for a place of rest from shopping or working in the town centre, or somewhere to meet friends and share a meal, or for someone to listen or offer help, then the Salt Cellar is for you.

We are here to serve. Open Monday to Saturday, from 10.00am to 3.30pm.

You will find a welcome here.
